Hitting up the Roots! German Beef Rouladen for dinner!

I decided to try something a little different with my thin cut round steak this evening, normally I do proscuitto herb roll ups, but something was telling me to go with tradition. 


6 slices bacon

1/2 onion, sliced


6 pickles, sliced

thin cut round steak

Preheat oven to 350

Lay out the thin steam and pat dry

spread evenly mustard on inside of each slice

place bacon, onions, and pickles inside

Roll up each piece of meat, making sure to keep the contents inside.

Gently pan sear each side till brown then place in a casserole dish.

Gentle cover with red wine cooking sauce, then cook for 20 minutes at 350.

I will be serving these tonight with creamy garlic cauliflower and a Paleo gravy made from the meat drippings… hopefully this will fill those little tummies and the boys will sleep well tonight, we have school tomorrow after 9 days off!!
